Our North Star

We’re something new under the sun: VC for PeaceTech.
Every year, war costs the world $22 trillion (nearly 14% of global GDP),
and hundreds of thousands of human beings are killed or injured.

We invest to prevent, mitigate, or resolve violent conflict.
Our moonshot is to help launch 9- and 10-figure startups.
Our starshot is to help catalyze an 11- or 12-figure PeaceTech ecosystem.

Our Stories

We come by this honestly, having spent years both honing our crafts and finding our paths.

Brian T. Abrams

Hippie Heart, Capitalist Brain

Like many people, I used to read the newspaper, stare at headlines about war, and wonder “What can I do?” At first, I asked that question rhetorically. Then, I asked it again with earnestness, curiosity, and openness:

What can I do?

One thing I can do is invest. I’m a longtime venture capitalist having managed over $1 billion in assets, seen nearly 10,000 startups, served on over 18 boards of directors, guided 15 companies to exit (M&A or IPO), and generated top-tier returns.

By taking my trade (venture capital) and applying it toward one of the biggest problems in the world (violent conflict), I hope to show that a PeaceTech fund can generate exceptional returns, nudge the world toward becoming more peaceful, and inspire others to do the same.

When not focused on PeaceTech, I spend as much time as possible with my family (my magnificent wife and our two wonderful sons) and friends (at dinners, on walks, or having 90’s-style phone conversations) while traveling internationally as often as I’m able (including annual solo retreats to far corners of the globe)

For more on my personal philosophy, inspired by Immanuel Kant in 1785, check out this article on LinkedIn.

Numeric Truth, Operational Anchor

My connection with B Ventures began at the intersection of a 25+ year friendship with founder Brian Abrams and an interest in supporting the fund's vision and mission, investing in Peace Tech. Personally, my faith inspires the importance of peacebuilding as part of being a good community member. Professionally, my desire is to use my diverse skillset to serve something bigger and bring a positive force into the world at large. With mutual values aligned and complementary skills, I offered to help Brian on this endeavor and accepted the CFO position prior to the fund launch in 2024. I’m grateful for this chapter and hopeful this is the beginning of a new ecosystem - Venture Capital for Peace Tech.

My professional journey began in public accounting and continued into traditional corporate finance. Later, I gained experience managing a portfolio of investments and consulted private equity funds, founder-owned businesses, and a family office. I enjoy being part of a team and my organizational strengths help support others in achieving their business mission.

Outside of B Ventures, I find joy in cheering on my daughter at her sporting events and activities, playing golf and fishing with my husband, gathering with friends for meals and outings, and traveling with my family. Supporting faith-oriented organizations and charities that support children, young adults, and people in need are also passions of mine.

Peace, Connection, Hustle

I am a born peacemaker - it just took me a few decades, a commercial pilot’s license, and a wild ride through Silicon Valley to finally admit it.

As a kid on the playground, watching others fight always made me sad, so my instinct was to get far away from the chaos. I took this way too literally! By 20, I was a commercial pilot looking for peace and quiet in the sky. But I quickly realized spending every day at 30,000 feet made me miserable. So, I grounded myself, packed my bags, and headed for the tech world.

Once I got to Silicon Valley, I accidentally started living a double life. By day, I worked at a fast-growing YC company, closing Fortune 500 deals with AT&T, Northrop Grumman, Apple, and many more. By night, every Thursday from 7 to 11 PM, I answered calls for the National Suicide Hotline, helping others find the peace to stay alive.

Today, I finally found a way to do both. At B Ventures, I work with brilliant founders who are proving peace and profit can coexist. I host a podcast, throw in-person events, and run an accelerator. Every single day, I get to prove what that kid on the playground always knew deep down: peace isn't passive, it's a massive market, and it is absolutely, always worth pursuing.

Our Founders

“Who?“ and “Why?“ are much more important questions to us than “What?“ or “How?”

Our Companies

We invest globally as early as Day 1 and as late as Series A, typically five figures for brand-new startups, six figures for pre-seed/seed, and low seven figures for seed/Series A or as follow-ons. What we really invest in, though, are people.

Thought Leadership

We post big ideas, provocative ideas, and sometimes crazy ideas because, as Apple taught us back in the 90s, "the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

Press And Publications

PeaceTech is something we build together, and the world is taking notice. See what people are saying and help spread the word!
